Personality:
Pagan is someone who knows how to adapt to his surroundings. He knows how to change and blend into the background of the place he is and disappear. A very useful skill that is for sure. He's an outgoing guy, he likes to be adventurous and try to make the best of every day that comes. He's someone that likes to use light humour to better his situations and give his life an edge. To take away the physical pain and almost a way of escapism. He uses sarcasm as a way to hide his problems and act like his situation isn't as bad as it seems but oh lord, it is. He has a rebellious streak. If he doesn't agree or like it, he'll break what rules and run for his life.
He likes to keep an air of optimistic around him constantly and try to see the brighter side of things. He is someone that constantly appreciates the small things in life and certainly the free things. Yet, he is more of a loner than a social butterfly. Pagan has grown up emotionally to be detached. He has never formed a strong attachment or even had a strong attraction to someone yet, but he's not really looking for it, not that he would even know if he found that bond with someone for the moment. He is someone that doesn't judge at all, no matter who or what you are. But he does have a jealous side to him that can be very bitter.
A problem with Pagan is his strong dyslexia. He struggles heavily with reading and writing, embarrassed of it more than anything. His lack of commitment to overcome the problems with it and not strong enough support through his life means his reading and writing level is atrocious for someone his age.

[Appearance]

Appearance isn't overly important to Pagan. It's the last thing he ever thinks of when he wakes up. His hair seems matted and a brown mess on the top of his head. His face is usually picking up an unwanted tan that deepen the blueness of his eyes. His clothes are mostly worn to the last thread because of his inability to let clothes go and beliefs on consumerism. But from this, Pagan has no perception of what really is beautiful and what isn't. He doesn't know or care if he's ugly or beautiful or how to know or understand if he finds someone beautiful.

History

Not that he even remembers. He was barely a year old when his family's life was ruined and fell to pieces. His father grew ill and eventually died to cancer of the stomach. His father being the fountain of life for his family, his mother was unable to cope with the loss and two children to look after. So she did what she thought was best for her family. She left her children at a care home and went on with her own life.
The care home wasn't the best or the most dedicated to their cause. Pagan was brought up happily till he was old enough to play with the elder boys and girls and not need so called love and fuss. He wasn't even completely aware of who his brother was anymore and neither was he. However it appears Pagan was one of the lucky boys. With bright blue eyes and still his baby cuteness on his face, he was adopted at the age of four.
His parents were often described as oddballs to say the least. He was brought up in a hippy and gypsy community and was pretty much left to do anything he wanted growing up. Home schooled for a few years by his parents he was taught a lot about environmental problems and political wars. When he was finally put into a public school, it was a slight culture shock for him and his teachers. At age nine, he was unable to write nor even read much at all and was often taken out of classes for one on one teaching. But it was difficult and only just becoming apparent how bad Pagan's problem really was. He couldn't tell the time, struggled with dates and other things.
Things only started to get better when his parents decided it was best to put money into his education and sent him to a specialist school when he was fourteen. Thanks to this, he did eventually learn basic reading and writing and telling the time. But things are still rough for Pagan. He managed to get through school and get accepted onto a college course in environmental studies on special circumstances.
