[Personality]
Occupation: Personal Trainer
Likes: His work out routines and sticking to it, beaches and the seaside, cooking for people, helping other people get what they want.
Dislikes: People are lazy with no reason, people who can't find a purpose in life, fatty foods, doing nothing.
Personality: Emery is a very routined person. He plans out his days most of the time and even books in to see his sister at times. He's a very structured person and it shows. He can be very rigid and hard to break. It's hard to become friends with him, he won't tell you a life story or what's his favourite ice cream flavour if you meet him. He likes to keep private and unlike his sister, he has no way of showing his emotions. He just bottles things up till he loses his temper and the cycle starts again. He's a helpful person, he does like to help out those he can even if sometimes he just doesn't get what is happening.
Joint History - Verena and Emery
Verena and Emery was born to incredibly loving parents. But it was clear that their parents had favourites. Their father loved to be with Emery and their mother loved to be with Verena. Yet their parents were completely different people. They were the couple you looked at and wondered why they were together and they didn't even know why, but that was the nature of Miseria. Their father was a stern military man, obsessed with being clean and healthy and even from a young age, Emery picked up on his habits and it was clear he was starting to become OCD at a young age. Whereas their mother was more of a hippy free spirit. She was always wanting to dance and sing but their father didn't want that. So it was clear she was passing that onto Verena. Overall though, the two had a good childhood. One aspect being drilled into both of them: family is everything.
The two were incredibly close growing up. Emery always looked out for his little sister when they were out together, at school or if they were out with friends. They would always try and be there for each other. They even had hand signals for if they ever saw each other on the street when passing. Yet Emery was starting to worry his younger sister as the years went on. His OCD was getting worse, his health habits were beyond anything their father did and she was worried because he didn't look healthy. But she didn't have the time to worry about her brother. She was eighteen and got accepted into a prestigious university for theatre, thankfully by the city at least.
Emery's OCD was getting worse. Getting a job as a personal trainer made it worse. He was working out more and more, eating less and less and nothing was making him feel better. He had headaches, stomach pains. Things that shouldn't be happening to a healthy twenty year old. But he didn't do anything, not till his sister was home for christmas and she saw the state of him. Verena was terrified to see him. He was pale not like his usual complexion, he was always hot and in pain. He could barely walk and focus, so she dragged him, somehow to car and to the hospital. There it wasn't any better. They couldn't get to a conclusion. They told her it was probably a bug and they shouldn't waste hospital money, but this had been going on for months. Stamping her foot and shouting, she got her brother into a CT scan and their answer to his problem's. Her brother had a brain tumour.
For Verena; this was a shot in the face. Her brother, the man who has been her guardian angel all her life and the man who had supported her better than her father and any boyfriend she had ever had, was dying. And worse, he could die at any moment. For Emery, a health fanatic, it was a horrible wake up call. That it was going to matter how healthy he was and continued to be, he was going to die suddenly because of something he couldn't stop or control. It was unbearable.
For months, Emery went under extensive treatment. Brain surgeries to try and combat the tumour, but it was dangerous to even try and get near. They tried to get much as of the tumour out of his brain as possible as it was resting against his spinal fluid, causing his symptoms with pressure. With radiation therapy, he's mostly clear of an immediate death threat but it's going to a few more months from his twenty-fourth birthday, till he will get the all clear. Verena is praying that day can be before he is married.
